Our Granny…Our inspiration

A self-taught master seamstress our paternal grandmother loved to sew, cook and solve crossword puzzles back in the day and she could make just about anything from the world’s best cornbread and pie crust (no joke) to high school prom dresses in a flash.  As a woman who lived through the depression and learned to save every little last bit, she was always very resourceful when it came to making clothes and she turned her frugality into a signature design style.  She would save every last scrap and turn it into something…a pocket applique on a doll dress, the collar of a shirt or the cuff lining on a jacket.  Those children, grand children and even great grand children smart enough to save her creations now have family heirlooms and keepsakes we all hope to continue to pass down to our own beloved children, nieces and nephews as part of our family history.  With the creation of Aunt Bucky we hope to honor our Granny’s outlook on life and create items that are fun, functional and worth holding on to well after your wee one is all grown up.
